IMG Academy is a boarding school and sports campus in Bradenton, Florida, with a six-field baseball complex. The Cardinals are planning a week there.
What IMG Academy is.
IMG Academy is a boarding school and sports campus in Bradenton, Florida. Athletes live and train on the same campus, and baseball is one of the programmes it runs.
The baseball complex is six fields, all lit, all with artificial turf infields, plus a stadium the school uses for showcase games and tournaments. There are also three practice infields, sixteen practice mounds, four indoor batting cages and twelve outdoors.
March is the reason to go. A club in British Columbia trains indoors all winter and waits on the weather well into spring. A week at IMG is a week outside on turf, practising and playing games, in the middle of that wait.
