Canadian tournaments

The Road Runs Across Canada

The Road to Okotoks is Baseball Canada's national championship, and it is the biggest date on the club's Canadian calendar. There are others. Here's what it takes to get there, and where else the Cardinals play and host through the year.

What the Road to Okotoks Is

The Road to Okotoks is Baseball Canada's national championship. Teams qualify through three regional tournaments, one each in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, and sixteen come out of them. Those sixteen meet at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks, Alberta, home of the Okotoks Dawgs, and play for the Morneau Cup. It is wood bat and it is best on best, with scouts and college coaches in the stands, and Baseball Canada's under-18 Junior National Team watching too.

Where Else the Club Plays, and What It Hosts

On the Road

Cardinals travel for tournaments through the season, in and out of the province. A trip means several days of baseball in a row against clubs a team would not otherwise meet, with the whole roster living out of one hotel.

Hosted in Abbotsford

The Cardinals host at home as well. Hosting means part of the year's baseball happens on the club's own field, in front of the club's own crowd, and a family can watch a whole weekend of it without booking a room.

As soon as a date is confirmed, families hear it from staff. Nobody has to go looking for it.
