Privacy

The contact page has a short form. It asks for four things:

• the reason you are getting in touch, chosen from a short list
• your name
• your email address
• your message

That is everything it asks for. There are no other boxes and nothing is filled in behind the scenes.

When you press send, the form opens your own email program with the message already written out. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email program, and your message goes straight to the club. It does not pass through this website or any other company on the way.

We use your message to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list because you wrote to us, and we do not pass your message to anyone outside the club.

Please send us only what we need to answer your question. If you are asking about a child, you do not need to tell us their birthday, their school or anything about their health for us to help. If you do send us something we do not need, we will not use it for anything else.

Registration does not happen on this website. The register buttons take you to the club's own registration form, which the club runs on Google Forms.

That matters, so we will be plain about it. Once you are filling in that form, you are giving your answers to the club directly, and the club holds them in its own account. Anything you enter there about a young player, including their name, their age and the team they play for, is held by the club, not by this website. This website never sees it.

If you want to know what the club holds about you or your player, or you want it corrected or deleted, contact info@thewcbc.com.

This website publishes photographs of players, coaches and staff, and it publishes names. The alumni pages list former players by name along with the school they went on to. The coaches and staff pages name the people in those roles. The photographs come from the club.

If you or your child appear in a photograph here and you would like it taken down, or if a name is wrong or you would like it removed, contact info@thewcbc.com and we will take care of it. You do not have to give a reason.

Nothing. Neither of these websites saves anything in your browser, and neither one sets cookies. The visit counting works without putting anything on your device.

One page on this site, IMG Spring Training, has a YouTube video built into it. YouTube loads as soon as that page opens, before you press play, so YouTube receives your device's internet address and some basic browser information at that point. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced address for it, which is YouTube's own setting for collecting less. What YouTube does inside its own player is theirs and not ours, and they explain it at policies.google.com/privacy. This is the only page on either of our websites where anything from another company loads.

Everything else on these pages, including the lettering, comes from our own servers. Links to GameChanger, Instagram, X, TikTok, Prep Baseball Report and the BC Premier Baseball League take you off this website. Once you follow one of those links you are on that company's site and their own privacy terms apply. Nothing from them loads while you are here.

These websites are hosted by Vercel. Like every web host, their servers keep a basic record of requests, which includes the internet address a request came from, the page asked for and the time. We use this only to keep the sites running and to fix problems. We keep this for two years from your last activity here, and then it is deleted.

The visit counting runs on Vercel too. Each time a page loads it records which page you opened and when, the sort of device and browser you were using, the page you came from, and roughly where you are, down to the town. All of that goes into a total. To tell one visit from another without using cookies, Vercel works out a code from the request itself and throws it away after a day. None of it is tied to your name, none of it is joined up with the hosting record above, and none of it follows you once you leave these websites. Privacy law in British Columbia and Canada gives you the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to ask us to delete it. Write to info@thewcbc.com and we will get back to you. If there is something the law does not let us delete, we will tell you what it is and why.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.

If we ever add something new, for example a tool that counts visitors, we will update this page before we switch it on and change the date at the top. If the change is a significant one we will say so on the website rather than hoping you notice.
